Ivanildo Jenkins Cabral

January 5, 1993 — July 4, 2022

Ivanildo Jenkins Cabral, 29 of Worcester, was a caring and extremely loyal son, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022. Ivan was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts. As a child, Ivan grew up in Worcester where he played youth football with teams such as the Worcester Vikings and Cowboys for many years. Later becoming an excellent running back for North High’s Football team, and graduated class of 2011.

Ivan was a certified crane operator for J. Deery Excavating Inc. He was raised catholic at the St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Worcester but most recently had been attending regular services at Praise Tabernacle North in Cranston, RI. Ivan loved sports and after football focused more on boxing. He went on to compete in boxing and brought some trophies home, while training at Camp Get Right, and 401 Boxing Gym. He also coached kids to box and regularly attended amateur and professional fights to coach and help in any way he could. The coaches and fighters he trained with loved him for his strong heart, good spirit, and infectious laugh. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, participating in flag football, paint balling, and jet skiing.

Ivan leaves behind to mourn his great loss, his mother, Towanda Amponsah of Woonsocket, RI; his father, Virgolino Lopes Cabral of Worcester; his stepmother, Madeline Dorego of Worcester; five brothers, Antoine Price of Concord, MA., Anderson Guerra, Rodney Jenkins and Virgolino Cabral, Jr. all of Worcester and Ivanilson Fernandes Cabral of England; a sister, Ariana Awer, and two step-sisters, Melissa Dorego, and Pakita Dorego all of Worcester; his maternal grandparents, Cedric Young of Woonsocket, RI., and Sylvia (Jenkins) Johnson of Columbia, SC.; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of friends and extended family. He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Gregorio Cabral and Engracia Lopes Nunes; a sister-in-law, Erin Yeboah; a sister, Nilvanda Djamila Fernandes Cabral.

Viewing will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester, MA 3:00 PM-7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 18, 2022 at St. Peter’s Church, 931 Main St. Worcester, MA. at 11:00 AM. Burial service will be private.
