John L. Sullivan, III

November 24, 1985 — January 30, 2016

On Saturday January 30, 2016 we sadly lost our beloved son and brother, John. At just 30 years young he filled all of our hearts with enough love and laughter to last us our lifetimes. He was born in Worcester, raised in Leicester and has been living in Auburn for several years. He graduated from Leicester High School with High Honors. He is survived by his loving mother, Brenda L. (Seguin) Monahan and his step-dad, John F. Monahan, III; his father, John L. Sullivan, Jr. and his step-mom, Kelly Sullivan; maternal grandparents, Frank and Dolores Kusy; Michael & Mona McCarthy and grandmother, Rena Gleason; five sisters, Bailey and Shaunna D. Sullivan both of Worcester, Amy N. (Monahan) Wells and her husband Randy of Shrewsbury, Michelle L. (Monahan) Schneider and her husband Andy of Delafield, WI and Jesslyn K. (Monahan) Flynn and her husband Andrew of Paxton; his only brother, John F. Monahan, IV and his partner Nikole of Auburn. John had an amazing relationship with so many people who cared about him including his four nieces, his two longtime friends, Michael Patricks and Carl Johnson, his wonderful aunts, uncles and cousins from his large extended family. He was grateful for the love he shared with his Godfather and Uncle Randy F. Kusy. John is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Albert “Red” Seguin and paternal grandparents, John & Elizabeth Sullivan and his great grandparents, Frank and Mary Santa Maria. John had excellent taste in clothes, design, art and even cuisine. He loved researching and learning all about new cars, especially the BMW. John had a passion for electronic gadgets of all sorts and was the most technically savvy member of the family. He had a great memory and prided himself on knowing facts. He was always doing thoughtful things, especially for his mom. John loved to laugh, and make others laugh with is quick wit and sense of humor. John’s other love was for the movies. He was a true movie buff and could quote line for line almost any scene you threw at him. He could always recommend a good movie to anyone. His uniqueness and vitality are irreplaceable and a day will not pass that we won’t feel the loss of such a light in our lives. We will miss your smile and laughter, John. It brightened our days. We were blessed to have you in our lives and will be dearly missed by many. Those who wish to remember John by way of a memorial tribute are kindly asked to consider making a donation in his memory to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, www.AFSP.org or to Seven Hills Foundation Aspire, 150 Goddard Memorial Drive, Worcester, MA 01603 or online; https://donatenow.networkforgood.org/sevenhills Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 4:00pm until his Funeral Service at 7:00pm at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
