William A. Jose

June 22, 1944 — March 23, 2024

Shrewsbury

William A. Jose, 79, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in Worcester.

William is survived by his wife, Jean A. (Trottier) Jose; a son, David A Jose and his wife Josee of Auburn; a daughter, Patricia L. Arakelian and her husband Jason of Worcester;  four grandchildren, Dominique and Nicholas Jose, Cameron and Preston Arakelian; three sisters, Donna M. Jose of Worcester, Karen Charron of Shrewsbury, and Sharon McCarthy of Virginia Beach; nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother George Jose, Jr. and by his sister, Joyce Fair.  He was born in Worcester, son of George R. and Geraldine (Seymour) Jose, Sr.  He graduated from Boy’s Trade High School.

William worked for several years with his father at Economy Auto Supply at Posner Square in Worcester.  Bill was an entrepreneur, opening Bill’s Auto Repair, William’s Auto Sales and Affordable Used Car Rental on West Boylston Street in Worcester.

He was a father figure to his wife's family after the untimely passing of his future father-in-law.  He was always willing to lend a hand, offer advice, or offer a cheeseburger to his son’s dog.  He loved baseball and softball and played well into his 70s with the Shrewsbury Senior Softball League.  He enjoyed coaching for Ted Williams Little League and loved to watch his grandchildren’s games.

He lived for his grandchildren.  He would haul himself into frigid hockey rinks and baseball games with his oxygen to cheer his grand kids on. He often said to them "whatever you decide to do, be the best at it!". He found fun and peace on the water while fishing with his grandchildren, he was generous with his time and patient with tangled fishing lines.
