William A. “Billy” Coffone, 66 of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 18, 2025. Billy joins in heaven, his loving father, Anthony “Tony” Coffone, and the love of his life Dawn.
Billy was born on August 3, 1959, the son of Nancy Marie (Toscano) Coffone and the late Anthony “Tony” Coffone. He grew up in Medfield and after graduating from Medfield High School, joined the Massachusetts Department of Corrections as a correctional officer at MCI Walpole for many years before retiring as a Sergeant.
He is survived by his loving mother, Nancy M. (Toscano) Coffone: his four siblings, Charles J. “Chuck” Coffone and his wife Leslie of Worcester, James Coffone and his wife Nancy of Rochester, Lisa Coffone of Uxbridge, Mary Jo Lizotte and her husband Ronald of Franklin; Many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who he lovingly adored and who loved him too. Billy was predeceased by his father, Anthony “Tony” Coffone and his life partner, Dawn.
He enjoyed his years growing up in Medfield; playing football and hockey, spending summers on Cape Cod with friends and family; and running the Falmouth Road Race with his dad and brothers. Billy's greatest joy was riding his Harley Davidson, taking road trips to Bike week in Laconia every year, charity rides with friends and just a peaceful ride on a bright sunny day. His favorite saying was "live to ride, ride to live". He most enjoyed Sundays with family, watching the Patriots and NASCAR races and sitting down with a big plate of Mom's spaghetti and meatballs. We will miss our Billy's beautiful smile so deeply; his laughter, his ability to make us laugh, his unconditional love for all of us and his free spirit. Billy's love for life was immeasurable.
