William “Bill” Fahlin, 63, of Auburn, Massachusetts, passed away on July 9, 2026.

Born on August 8, 1962, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Bill was deeply proud of his roots. He built his life in Charlton, where he lived for more than 30 years and formed lifelong friendships that became like family. Later, he and Jennifer made their home in Auburn. Bill was a proud Army veteran whose values of service, dedication, and perseverance remained with him throughout his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His love for family shaped every chapter of his life, each page filled with laughter, joy, and unwavering connection.

Bill shared 37 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Jennifer Fahlin. Together they built a life grounded in love, partnership, and shared adventure. They especially cherished traveling and discovering new places side by side, creating memories that became the stories of their life together.

He was a proud and loving father to his daughters, Rachel Fahlin and Courtney Fahlin, and an adoring grandfather to his beloved grandson, Austin, who brought immeasurable joy to his days. Nothing brought Bill greater happiness than gathering his family around the table. He loved cooking for the people he loved, and some of his family’s favorite memories were made over meals he prepared. Whether sharing dinner, telling stories, or watching Austin grow, nothing meant more to Bill than being surrounded by his family.

Like many New Englanders, Bill had a long-standing love-hate relationship with the Patriots. Colorful commentary—and the occasional chicken wing—were known to fly toward the television on any given Sunday, much to the amusement of those around him.

Bill was always up for a little friendly competition. He enjoyed spending time at the local gym and could often be found playing pickleball, softball, golf, cornhole, or a game of cards with family and friends. At the end of the day, he also appreciated relaxing with a good whiskey, a cigar, and the company of those he loved.

For more than 40 years, Bill dedicated himself to the metal fabrication industry. He earned the respect of colleagues through his hard work, integrity, and commitment to excellence. His work ethic was unmatched, and he took great pride in providing for his family.

Those who knew Bill will remember him as someone who could always be counted on. He was hardworking, generous, and blessed with a sense of humor that could brighten any room. Family and friends turned to him for advice, support, or simply a laugh. His kindness, loyalty, and selflessness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Fahlin; his daughters, Rachel Fahlin and Courtney Fahlin; his cherished grandson, Austin; his mother, Marylou Cowles; his stepfather, longtime friend and business partner, Rob Cowles; his brother, Bob Fahlin, and his wife, Fay; his sister, Fran Palmerino, and her husband, Scott; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

While Bill accomplished many things throughout his life, nothing compared to the love he had for his family. They were his greatest pride, his greatest purpose, and the center of his world. His legacy is one of unconditional love, unwavering dedication, quiet strength, and a life lived in service to others. That legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

Though our hearts are broken by his passing, we are forever grateful for the memories he gave us, the lessons he taught us, and the love he shared so freely. He will be profoundly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 from 4-7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 16th at 12:30 pm at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd., Worcester. Burial will be held privately.
