Susan M. Pressey

Susan M. Pressey, 71, of Worcester passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024, after an illness. She was born in Worcester, one of six children of James J. Hearn, Sr., and Janet (Lemoine) Hearn.

Susan is survived by her husband, George P. Pressey; sister Lynda F. Cote, sister-in-law Jane Hearn, brother-in-law Donald Casey, Sr., and lifelong friends esq. Donald A. Peters and family. 

Susan leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews, especially the youngest Kaitlyn Meservey as well as many great nieces and nephews, who lovely referred to her as Sue-Sue.

Two sisters, Patricia G. Casey, Karen E. Hearn; two brothers, James J. Hearn, Jr., Paul F. Hearn; a nephew, James J. Hearn, III and brother-in-law, Bobby Cote, all predeceased her. 

Susan graduated from Ascension High School and St. Vincent Hospital x-ray technician. She worked as an X-Ray Technician and as a CAT Scan Technician at Memorial Hospital.

Despite her (lifetime) career in the medical field, in which communication is very technical and straightforward. Susan was an elegant writer. She used her talent to send beautifully written letters and cards to friends and family members, especially when she couldn’t get out to visit. 

These will be cherished and missed with Susan in passing.

She will be buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Shrewsbury. There are no calling hours. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
