Susan Jane "Susie" Perkins Marchione

Susan Jane Perkins Marchione, lovingly known as “Susie the Barber,” passed away at the age of 80 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Born on December 6, 1945, in Worcester, she was the cherished daughter of the late Willis Perkins Jr. and Julia Perkins.

Susan is survived by her beloved children, Karynsue Marchione-Reilly and her husband Kevin; Thomas Marchione and his fiancée Christie; and Kristen Chesna and her husband John. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Robert Marchione and his fiancée Sarah; Timothy Reidy and his husband Shaloo; Taryn Reidy and her fiancé Jeffrey; Michael Marchione; and Jo-Jo Chesna. Susan was also blessed with many great-grandchildren whom she adored. She is further survived by her cousin Donna Dupsky and her niece Joan Perkins-Sullivan.

In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by her beloved brother, Ronald Perkins.

Susan was a graduate of Broms Academy where she earned her master’s certification in barbering and cosmetology. She spent many happy years working at her barber shop, Susie’s Clip Joint, where she built lasting friendships with clients who became like family. She found joy in simple pleasures—days at the beach, trips to the casino, and playing bingo with family at the Auburn Elks.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 PM at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA. A Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Loreto Parish, 37 Massasoit Road, Worcester, MA. Following the Mass, Susan will be laid to rest at Hope Cemetery in Worcester.

Susan will be remembered for her warmth, her dedication to her family, and the many lives she touched through her kindness and hard work. She will be deeply missed.
