Stephen O'Day

Stephen L. O'Day (Steve O), 57, of Worcester, MA. passed away unexpectedly at his residence on February 4th, 2023. Steve graduated from Burncoat High with the class of 1983 and worked in the asphalt paving industry for over 35 years, predominantly for BK & Sons Paving out of Worcester, MA. Paving was his passion. It was through his work there that his life-long friends became more like family. He had a strong passion for all kinds of music and attended many concerts at various venues over the years. Back in the day, Steve was known to occasionally get up on stage with a local band, joining in on a song or two. He was an avid lover of Sports and was a devoted fan of the Boston Bruins and New England Patriots, proudly wearing his team jerseys on game days. He loved spending his early years with his family on Cape Cod, camping at Old Orchard beach and vacations at Hampton, New Hampshire. He had a passion for motorcycles and classic cars but loved his family most of all. His children were his pride and joy. He will be missed immensely, but never forgotten.

Steve sadly leaves behind his two sons, Stephen P. O’Day of Millbury and Keith J. O'Day of Worcester, his daughter Felicia J. Tracy of Worcester and his grandson Brian E. Kniskern jr. He also leaves behind his mother Virginia (Pruneau - O'Day) Patton of North Brookfield, his sister Christine L. O'Day of North Brookfield, his niece Cierra R. Carlin O'Day of Millersville, Maryland, his nephew Ryan M. O'Day and his former wife Tracy, the mother of his children. Steve's father Stephen M. O'Day and sister Cherise M. O'Day, both of Worcester, predeceased him.

Friends may call on the family on Friday, February 17 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, Worcester. The family also wishes to invite extended family and friends to a Mercy Meal on Saturday, February 18 at 12 pm at the Wheelock Inn, 82 Wheelock Ave Millbury, MA.

Burial will be held privately at a later date.
