Sheila M. (Gonelli) Burbank, 69, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
Born in Norfolk, Virginia on September 5th, 1956, daughter of the late John and Mary (Grimes) Gonelli. Sheila is survived by her beloved partner of 33 years, Brian Delaney; her former husband and longtime friend David Burbank. Her loving children, John Burbank and his partner Brenda Martinez of Worcester, Britney Nyako and her husband Peter Nyako of Worcester, Angela Gonelli and her partner Antonio Viruet of Worcester, her adored grandchildren Gianna Burbank, Isabella Burbank, Jayvianni Burbank, Mia Quinones, Alayla Nyako, Davion Nyako, Elizabeth Lajoie, Michael Viruet and Alexander Viruet as well as her brother, Paul Gonelli, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sadly, in addition to her parents, Sheila was predeceased by her brothers, Michael, Dominic, and John Gonelli.
Sheila was a graduate of West Boylston High school class of 1974. She grew up in an Italian family restaurant where she gained her love for cooking. Sheila cherished time with her family especially her grandchildren and grand dogs. She always enjoyed helping those in need even if it was just to serve a meal. Sheila had a passion for fashion and always was dressed to the nines. She was a secretary for many years at Bunzel New England and Williams communications. Sheila loved the casino and going to the beach in the summer every Sunday.
She was always the light in any room. Sheila will truly be missed by so many.
Calling hours for Sheila will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 9:30a.m. until her Funeral Service at 12:30p.m. in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Sheila will be laid to rest following services in Mount Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston.
