Shawn Gleason

Shawn Gleason of Worcester, MA, aged 63, passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife and son on Friday, June 20th, 2025.

Shawn is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Laura (Hobbs) Gleason and their loving son Frank Gleason (fiancé Jennifer), of Worcester, MA. He also leaves behind many incredible and loving family members and friends. Shawn was predeceased by his father James E. Gleason and brothers James R. Gleason, Sam Norton, and Luke Norton.

Shawn was a devoted, loving, and incredible husband and father. A true jack of all trades, he could fix anything and was someone we could always count on for help. He was also an avid NASCAR and San Francisco 49ers fan and always eager to go to the beach or on a fishing trip. He was born in Wisconsin and grew up in Rutland, MA graduating from Wachusett Regional High School in 1980. A proud Veteran, he went on to serve in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer. Post military service he pursued a long fruitful career in the automotive field. Although Shawn had been battling health issues for several years, he refused to give up. He continued working as a Logistics Advisor and driver for Direnzo Towing right through to the end.

Shawn was a quiet man, but when he spoke, he could capture the entire room with his wit and humor. He was truly a beautiful human who added laughter and light to every soul he met. He was incredibly loved and will be forever missed, knowing that as long as he lives on in our hearts and memories he is never truly gone.

Calling hour will be held on Saturday, June 28th from 9:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester MA. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester MA at 11:00am. Flowers are welcomed.
