Sherry had an easy smile, a quick sense of humor, and a remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with anyone.
Sharon “Sherry” A. (Robinson) Wyman, 82, of Millbury, formerly of Grafton and Worcester, passed away peacefully at home on October 5, 2026, after living with colon cancer. She was surrounded by the love of her daughters.
To almost everyone, she was simply "Sherry." She had an easy smile, a quick sense of humor, and a remarkable ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. Whether she had known you for years or had just met you minutes before, Sherry had a way of making you want to stop and talk. She loved people, loved to laugh, and believed that life was best enjoyed in the company of family and friends.
She leaves behind her daughters, Julie W. Joao and her husband, Rick, of Thousand Oaks, California, and Beth A. Inman and her husband, Michael, of Cary, North Carolina. She was a devoted and proud grandmother to Matthew Fiore Jr., Christopher Inman, Kathryn Inman, Daniel Inman, Robert Joao, Scott Joao, and Patrick Joao of whom brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Shaughnessy, and her husband Martin Shaughnessy of Yarmouth Massachusetts; her former husband, Merrill "Budd" Wyman of Worcester; her nieces and nephew, Kelly Magowan, Kim St. Andre, Heather Ryan, and Keith Ryan and her grand nieces and nephews.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, to Dennis Robinson and Janet (Antoniewicz) Capalbo, she was raised by her mother and stepfather, John Capalbo, whom she considered her father.
She loved people, loved to laugh, and believed that life was best enjoyed in the company of family and friends.
Sherry graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester, Massachusetts. After graduating, her career took her down several paths, each one leaving her with friendships she treasured. She worked as a secretary for Salisbury Billing Associates, Barrett Centrifugals, and Coppus Engineering, and in her younger years flew the skies as a stewardess for American Airlines, a time she remembered fondly. Later, she joined the Department of Nursing at UMass Memorial Medical Center, where she worked from 1985 until her retirement in 2003.
Wherever life took her, Sherry collected friends. She stayed connected to people from every chapter of her life and never lost her appreciation for friendly conversation, a night out and a good drink.
Her grandchildren were one of the greatest joys of her life. She never missed an opportunity to talk about them and proudly share their accomplishments with anyone who would listen. She was deeply involved in their lives and always made time for them, whether they needed encouragement, advice, or simply someone to listen to. As "Mimi," she was loving, loyal, and fiercely honest. She was not afraid to tell them what they needed to hear, even when it was difficult, and they always knew they could count on her for support, guidance, and unconditional love.
One of Sherry's favorite traditions was Friday Happy Hour. It was her time to sit, talk, laugh, and enjoy the company of her family and friends, especially Leigh, Gracie, Joanie, Linda, Ruth and Lee. Weekend mornings found her enjoying coffee and conversation with the "Sparklers" from Cordis Mills, another group of friends who brought great happiness to her life.
As "Mimi," she was loving, loyal, and fiercely honest.
More than anything, she filled every room she entered with her unmistakable spirit and personality and leaves behind countless memories for those fortunate enough to have known her. Her family and friends will forever remember her stories, her resilience, her generosity, her sarcasm, and the love she shared.
We love you to the moon and back!
