Sarah M. Batbouta

Sarah Marie Batbouta, 39, passed away on September 8, 2025, in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.

Born on November 5, 1985, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Sarah was raised in Shrewsbury, where she built a life rooted in compassion, family, and community. A proud graduate of Shrewsbury High School’s Class of 2004, she was known for her dedication both in the classroom and on the field. As a competitive athlete, Sarah brought resilience and determination to every game and meet, a reflection of the spirit she carried throughout her life.

She believed deeply in serving others and brought warmth and encouragement to those around her. She had a special gift for lifting spirits with kind words and heartfelt gestures. Her unwavering support as a daughter, sister, and aunt left a lasting impression on her family and all who knew her.

Sarah was the beloved daughter of Dr. John C. and Lois Batbouta. She shared a strong bond with her siblings, Jennifer Taylor, Matthew Batbouta, Laura Ryder, and Brian Batbouta—and was a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews. Her role as a sister and aunt brought her immense joy; she was known among her family for being tender-hearted and present with love and support.

She is also lovingly remembered by her grandmother, Shirley Ford. Sarah held dear the memory of those who passed before her: her grandfathers, Robert Ford and John Batbouta; her grandmother Olga Batbouta; and her godfather Michael Collins.

Calling Hours will be on Sunday, September 14, from 4 pm until 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral Service will be on Monday, September 15, at 10 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery in Worcester.

Sarah’s memory will live on through the love she shared so freely. May it bring comfort to those who knew and cherished her.
