Sammy Arthur Khoury, 67, of Worcester passed away surrounded by the ones he loved, Friday, December 19th, 2025, after a series of illness.
Sammy was born in Tampa, Florida, the son of Sammy E. and Mary (McPherson) Khoury. As a young child, Sammy moved with his family to New London, CT where he grew up and graduated from New London High class of 1977. He then furthered his education at Quinsigamond Community College. In May of 1988, Sammy married Barbara Mathis and began a life together raising their children with Faith in God, devotion to each other and their family. Sammy embarked on a career with Pittsburg Paint, Worcester Paint Company, and Nal’s Paint. He then ended his career as an administrator for Regional Home Care Inc. Sammy and his family have lived in New London and Worcester.
Sammy is survived by his love, Barbara; three cherished children, Sarah Rudner and her husband Barry of Groton, MA, Paul Nunes and his life partner Nicole Belliveau and Stephanie Khoury all of Worcester; a sister, Sharon Courtot and her husband Jamie of Quaker Hill, CT; grandchildren he adored, Zoe Grace, Emilee, Evan, Olivia, Isabella, Zoe, Sebastian and Ruby; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Extremely religious, Sammy was a member, deacon, treasurer and active volunteer of Heritage Baptist Church and a member and volunteer of the food pantry of the First Baptist Church of Leominster. Sammy attended weekly men’s group sessions at First Baptist Church of Leominster. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading. Sammy enjoyed family trips to Ogunquit, Maine and North Conway, NH. He loved freshwater fishing, coaching Minor and T-Ball leagues, playing softball and following all New England Sports teams.
Friends and relatives are invited to gather for calling hours, Friday, December 26th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will be Saturday, December 27th at 10:30 at Worcester County Memorial Park at 217 Richards Ave, Paxton, MA. His celebration of Life funeral service will be held Saturday Dec. 27th at 12 noon in the First Baptist Church of Leominster, 23 West Street Leominster. Family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial remembrances in his name be made to the First Baptist Church of Leominster Food Pantry, 23 West Street, Leominster 01453. Please make checks payable to First Baptist Church.
