Rose Marie Harris

September 17, 1933 — October 9, 2023

Rose Marie (Goyette) Harris, 90, of Grafton, formerly of Worcester, passed away on Monday, October 9, in the comfort of her home, with her adoring children and their spouses at her bedside.  She was predeceased by her husband, Richard J. Harris in October 1981.

Rose Marie is survived by her loving family, a daughter, Cheryl DelFarno and her husband Gus of Lincoln, RI; two sons, Richard J. Harris of Sutton, and Kevin M. Harris and his wife Megan of Grafton; two sisters, Carol Warfield wife of the late Robert Warfield of Worcester, and Sue Yeskevicz and her husband Ronald of Rutland; a sister-in-law, Patricia Goyette of Milbury, wife of her late brother, Donald Goyette.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Rick (Michael), Ashley (Ryan), Gus (Kaitlin), Dylan (Nicole), Lindsey (Luis), twins, Zach and Mike, and Alexa; five great grandchildren, Valentina, Gussy “G4”, Dominic, Ava, and Lucia “LuLu”; nieces and nephews.  Rose Marie was born in Milford, daughter of Roland Goyette and Agnes Sesona  Goyette.

Rose Marie worked for many years at W.L. Meade Trucking and broke the “Glass Ceiling” as the first female General Manager of a trucking company.  She later worked as office manager for Tom James Clothing Company for 17 years.  She set the standards for how offices were run and in her later years trained office managers opening new offices in other major cities in the USA.

Rose Marie enjoyed crocheting, and made so many gifts for people, from baby booties, scarves and hats to blankets sent across the world to the many friends she had for special occasions or in their own time of need, each magic loop and crab stitch was an extension of the love she put into the creation of these items.  She also enjoyed baking desserts and would deliver sweet goodies to everyone for special occasions.  She always had a way of making everyone around her feel special.  She enjoyed dancing and spending time at her beach house in Rhode Island. Family was most important to her! She loved telling stories of Rick, Cheryl and Kevin growing up and spending time with them and their loved ones.   All the grand and great grand babies were her pride and joy!  Her famous line was, “I love not one the less, not one the more, but I love them all the same.”

Calling Hours will be on Friday, morning, October 13 from 9 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a procession departing the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. for an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint John’s Church, 44 Temple Street, Worcester.  Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
