Ronald P. Picard, 50, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of twenty-six years, Caryn R. (Lanava) Picard, their two incredible sons, Joel P. Picard and Adam M. Picard. His mother Margaret A. (Adams) Picard, two sisters, Michelle M. Quinn and Danielle R. Picard-Sheehan, and nieces and nephews. Ron was born in Worcester, son of the late, Ronald P. Picard, and lived here all his life.
Following his graduation from Worcester Vocational High School, he pursued a career as a plumber. He was licensed as a Master Plumber and Pipe Fitter and was a member of the Plumber and Pipe Fitters Union. He retired from Walpole State Prison to care for his family.
Ron found great joy in his family and loved attending his sons’ sporting and diving events, which took them all over the country. He adored his mother ‘Peg’. He looked forward to going to the Cape in the summer with his family and loved his friends “over the bridge”. He loved scuba diving in the Caribbean, going on vacation and giving travel advice, whether it was solicited or not. He was always up for going fishing and loved a fancy expensive dinner. One of his greatest joys was his Basset Hound, Ruger, nicknamed the “million dollar dog”. If Ron liked something, he loved it. His sense of humor and sense of adventure will live on through his boys.
Calling Hours will be on Friday, January 9, from 2 pm until 5 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Prayer Service to follow at 5 pm.
