Roberta A. (Huard) Henry, of West Boylston, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, nine days before her 88th birthday, at Life Care Center of Leominster.
Roberta is survived by the love of her life, her husband of nearly sixty-nine years, Richard N. Henry Sr.; two sons, Peter P. Henry and his wife Michelle of Apollo Beach, FL; Richard N. Henry, Jr. and his wife Tina of Worcester; a daughter, Sharon A. Henrickson and her wife Sue of Worcester; eight grandchildren, Michelle, Kate, Sara, Derin, Nicole, Alexandria, Ryan, and Jacob; ten great grandchildren, one to be born soon; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and sister, Albert Huard and Irene Beckman. Roberta was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Albert and Esther (Landstrom) Huard. She graduated from Commerce High School. Roberta was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Greendale.
Roberta was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed time with her family. Sundays were reserved for family, football and the Green Bay Packers. She also loved spending time at the family beach house fondly called “Henry’s Landing” in Maine at Moody Beach and later winters in Florida.
Many of Roberta’s friendships began in elementary school and lasted throughout her life. She and a group of life-long girlfriends nicknamed “The Hen Party” had monthly gatherings which involved lots of games, family stories and making memories. The ladies also celebrated their friendships with many girls’ weekends. Over time, daughters joined the getaways and became known as “The Hens and Chicks”.
Roberta and Richie were also part of a great group of friends/neighbors called the “Crazy Eights”. The group enjoyed travelling and vacationing together.
Roberta worked for many years in banking and retired as an accounting clerk in the Loan Department for Bank of America.
Roberta and Richie had the good fortune to meet and marry as soulmates when they were in their early twenties. Their marriage has been an inspiration to their children and all who know them.
