Robert Richard Young

July 26, 1940 — March 9, 2024

Robert Richard “Noah” Young, age 83, was peacefully welcomed into eternity alongside his family and loved ones on Saturday, March 9th, 2024.

Robert was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, the son of Lena and Clarence Young. He is survived by his brother David Young and predeceased by his sister Muriel Gringas. He was the most loving and devoted father and is survived by his three children Heidi Vaillancourt, Noah Vaillancourt and Gina Young. He was a dedicated “Grumpa” and loved his five grandchildren, Orion, Carmine, Jasper, Earth and Sunshine. Robert’s love for his friends and family knew no bounds, as he cherished being surrounded by his chosen family as well; Jonny, Grandpa Peter, Eva girl, Kylee, Michael, Charlie, Missy, Nairi, Trey, Sweeney, Debbie, Joe, Nikki, Rich and J.B. Noah was raised and educated in Worcester, Massachusetts.

He worked as a renowned carpenter. An affectionate and dedicated father, Robert sacrificed his life to raise his children for which they are forever grateful. He guided them through life with unconditional love and wisdom. He took great pleasure in the holidays, traveling, live music, philosophy and most of all, watching his children and grandchildren grow and succeed. He was a lifelong fan of the Grateful Dead and spent much of his life touring the country to hear them play. He was an adventurous and spirited man. He spent the last summer of his beautiful life on a family road trip to visit his beloved son Noah. Also visiting 17 states and attending his final Grateful Dead show with his daughter and all of his grandchildren in July at the Gorge in Quincy, WA. “A box of rain will ease the pain and love will see you through”… roll away.
