Robert T. Shakour, 94, of Auburn, formerly of Brewster, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2026, at UMass Hospital in Worcester. He is reunited with his loving wife, Phyllis (Stevens) Shakour, who predeceased him in September 2012.

Robert is survived by two children, Thomas Shakour of Clover, SC and Eileen Shakour of Mashpee; three grandchildren, William Shakour of Gastonia NC, Carly Shakour of Lagrange, GA, and Samantha Shakour of Clover, SC; and his niece, Patti Carpenter of Barre, who was his primary caregiver. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Shakour. Robert was born in Worcester, son of the late, Leo and Eleanor (Sceles) Shakour. He graduated from high school in Worcester and set out on his service to his nation and raise his family with Phyllis, following their honeymoon in Paris.

Robert was a career officer in the United States Army, retiring as Command Sergeant Major, following a distinguished career as a nuclear engineer and nuclear powerplant chief. He and Phyllis were long-time members of Our Lady of Cape Church in Brewster. He enjoyed building model airplanes and ships, and tracing family genealogy.

A service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
