Listen to Obituary

Robert J. Aulizio, 81, a lifelong resident of Worcester; devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away at home with the family he cherished gathered by his side, Saturday January 10th, 2026.

Born in Worcester, Bob was one of four children of Italian Immigrants Pasquale and Antoinette (Cariglia) Aulizio. He grew up in the Grafton Hill neighborhood of Worcester, graduated from Commerce High School, served in the U.S. Army Guard and earned his associates degree from Worcester Industrial Technical Institute (WITI). Bob went on to create a noteworthy career of 38 years with Norton Company in which he held various positions before retiring as a Technical Sales Training Manager in 2004. He was so devoted to Norton Company, some would say that he “Bled Blue” a reference to his love of the company but more it’s people. He also had the pleasure and joy of working with & mentoring his son Bobby for several years before retiring.

In 1969, Bob married the “Love of his Life”, Gayle Borraccino. They settled in the Lake Ave neighborhood of Worcester, where they raised their family with Italian heritage, devotion and love. Bob & Gayle made many lasting memories together and their extended families played a major part of them.

Bob is survived by his soulmate of 56 years, Gayle; two children that he was so proud of, Robert P. Aulizio and his wife Lisa of Paxton; Antoinette “Toni” Aulizio-Reno and her husband Anthony of Sturbridge; six grandchildren, that he adored and found so much joy in: Giovanni, Jordan, Ava, Dante, Angelina and Vince; nieces, and nephews including Debbie and Dave Sullivan, Janet and William Mangano who he was so close to; other extended family members and a circle of best friends. Bob also leaves his four-legged partners in crime Guido & Aldea, who never left his side. In addition to his parents, two sisters, Nancy and her husband Paul Sulminski, Rachel and her husband Norman Lareau, and his beautiful niece Diane O’Brien, all predeceased him.

Bob was a classic car enthusiast. He has owned “his pride” a classic 1965 Black Mustang Fastback since the day he bought it. He enjoyed trouble shooting just about anything, family vacations to Disney, summers on Cape Cod, attending his grandchildren activities and videotaping each one of them, trips to the casinos, eating out and he was an avid New England Sports fan. He had a deep love for Yale football, proudly cheering on his son-in-law, who coaches the team, and his grandson Dante, who plays. He rarely missed a game. He treasured his coffee runs with Jimmy, Eddy & Barry and cherished their friendships dearly.

Bob was a family man inspired by his Italian heritage and traditions were very important to him. He believed that the customs we share are what keep families connected. Whether it was holiday gatherings, family vacations, or the small everyday routines that made life feel special, he made sure these moments were never lost. His legacy will live on in through the stories we tell, the meals we share, and the values he instilled in us, which we will proudly carry forward.
