Raymond A. Zeena, 85, of Greeley, Colorado, formerly of Worcester passed away at home Sunday, July 14,th 2024, with his devoted family gathered around him.
Raymond was born in Worcester, the son of Ralph A. and Alice V. (Orfalea) Zeena. He graduated from Commerce High, served in The Mass Army National Guard and lived in the Worcester/Holden area before retiring to Florida, more recently moved to Colorado. On February 25, 1966, Raymond married the “Love of his Life” Barbara A. Van Berkom. They then embarked on a 58-year marriage of faith, family and love raising their family. Raymond worked for over 20 years for R.G. Shakour Company retiring as a manager. Ray also worked for Marine U.S.A. and at onetime managed the former King’s Department Store.
Raymond is survived by his love Barbara; a daughter, Ruthann M. Zeena of Greeley; a son Raymond R. Zeena of Worcester; a sister, Helen Faucher and her husband Roger of Shrewsbury; two grandsons he cherished, Nick and Max. Many special cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, two brothers, Richard and Robert Zeena and a sister, Ruth Bernlitz, all predeceased him.
Raymond was a member of St George Orthodox Cathedral. He enjoyed sports and the outdoors to include Tennis and Biking.
Raymond’s calling hours will be held on Friday, July 19th, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. in Saint George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, Worcester, followed immediately by his Funeral Service at 11 a.m. in the Cathedral. The Very Rev. Milad Selim dean of the cathedral will celebrate the service. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Saint George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, Worcester, MA. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family once more.
