Paul R LaPierre

Paul R. LaPierre, 86, of Shrewsbury, passed away on the evening of Friday, June 24^th, 2022, at UMass Hospital in Worcester. Paul LaPierre was born in Worcester, MA on January 9, 1937. He was one of six children of the late Joseph and Helen (St. George) LaPierre.

Paul was a loving husband to Janice M (Richmond) who enjoyed 61 years of marriage until her death in 2018. They had a beautiful life together splitting their time living on their waterfront properties in Shrewsbury and Millbury MA, and Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

Paul was predeceased by all his siblings and his eldest son Bruce who passed away in 2017.  Paul is survived by his son Robert and his wife Jessica and his daughter Paulette McKenzie and her husband Keith. Paul also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Tiffany, Krystal, Corey, Kurtis, Shane, Stefan, Erika, Mallorie, Abrayana, Adam, Alesi, Lyndsey, Ayrton, Lana, Landen, Ava, and Aurora. Paul was also predeceased by his great-granddaughter, Alessandra. Paul also leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren, Logan, Liam, Avery, Tanner, Colin, Jackson, Zachary, Christian, Nathan, Maverick, and Penelope.

Paul will be remembered fondly for his love of New England sports, golf, and rum raisin ice cream. He was a proud US Air Force Veteran that served during the Korean War and served his local community as well as a truck driver for the Local 170 for many years. Paul took great pride in maintaining his properties, going for boat rides, and playing board games with his friends and family. He was a longtime member of St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury.

Funeral services for Paul will be held from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Worcester, MA 01605. Calling hours will be Thursday, June 30, 2022, from 4-7 pm. A funeral mass with military honors will be celebrated on Friday at 11 am at St. Anne’s Church 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury MA 01545.
