Paul was born in Worcester, MA on January 10, 1948, the third born of seven children of Pasquale and Evelyn (Coursey) DiBenedetto. He grew up in Shrewsbury and graduated from Shrewsbury High School. He was drafted into the Marine Corp serving his country in the Vietnam War. After his service, he co-owned Peter and Paul Builders alongside his brothers. He later accepted a position for the City of Worcester as senior building inspector before his retirement.
Paul leaves the love of his life, Karen DiBenedetto (Schold); his daughter Jillian Cook and her husband Jerry of Ellington, CT and his two sons, Nicholas DiBenedetto of Murrells Inlet, SC, and Kyle DiBenedetto of Stone Mountain, GA.. Two brothers, Peter DiBenedetto and Philip DiBenedetto predeceased him.
Paul enjoyed his retirement with Karen walking the beaches of Murrells Inlet and spending time with his family. He proudly co-wrote a chapter of the book, “I’m no hero, But I Served With Them,” recounting the memories he served as a marine in Vietnam. He also enjoyed playing cards with his siblings during holidays and special occasions and watching the Patriots. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Mass Chapter. Paul will be remembered by many for his generosity, sense of humor, and most of all his funny stories.
