Paul J. Crowley, Sr. 79, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at Saint Vincent Hospital. Paul was predeceased by his devoted wife of twenty-seven years, Joanne (Ferraro) Belezerian-Crowley in August 2023, he was also predeceased by his first wife, Annette (Dattis) Crowley in March 1992 and daughter-in-law Wendy Horn in February 2025.
Paul is survived by three sons, Paul J. Crowley, Jr. and his wife Kristen of Boston, Gregory Belezerian and his wife Jamie of Abington, and Michael Piispanen of Wellesley; a daughter, Kelly Amaral and her husband Dave of Worcester; seven grandchildren, Mark, Mason, Matthew, Nicole, Samantha, Nathan, and Victoria; his son-in-law Dave’s mom, Connie Amaral with whom he and Joanne spent great times with; nieces and nephews. Paul was born in Worcester, son of the late, Charles F. and Yvonne C. (Langevin) Crowley and has lived here all his life. He graduated from South High School and served America proudly in the United States Army; although he will tell you, with a grin, that he spent much of the time peeling potatoes.
His greatest joy was being a “Papa” and “Grampa” to his grandchildren and was always thrilled to drive with Joanne to sporting events, local or far away. He never missed any events or special days for his grandchildren. He enjoyed being with family and many friends he made along the way. Family trips to Cape Cod, Hampton Beach and cruises were his ways to connect with his loved ones while enjoying himself at the beach or on a ship. Paul was blessed to have many friends, some from his childhood, including John Mahan with whom he enjoyed a close bond with since the sixth grade. The Fergusons, Monfredas, McNeils, Camarras, Byniskis, Millers, and Father Charles Monroe, were among the many others he and Joanne enjoyed friendships with.
Paul was a machinist at Norton-Saint Gobain, where he dedicated forty years, before retiring. He was a member of the Retired Friend’s Club of Greendale. He enjoyed playing cards especially Cribbage, and was a die-hard fan of Notre Dame, the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots.
Paul enjoyed family, friends, good times, the simple things in life, and was always ready to lend a helping hand or be someone to talk to. He was a little league coach to the youth in the Greendale area which he enjoyed very much. His gentle kindness was admired and will be missed by all who knew him.
