Maryann Casamassa

Maryann (Bowman) Casamassa, 54 of Webster, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving family after a sudden illness.

Maryann is survived by her mother, Catherine (Ciccarelli) Bowman of Webster; her daughter, Miranda Casamassa; her two brothers, Michael S. Bowman and Kevin F. Bowman and his fiancé Lorraine Suzman; her sister, Laurie A. Bowman and her fiancé Harold Davis; her significant other, Thomas Magnant whom she cared for deeply; a niece, Kayla Brace; a nephew, Michael Bowman; an uncle and aunt, Louis and Ruth Ciccarelli; cousins, Andrew Sbrogna, Angela Brayton and Keri Volk.  She is predeceased by her father, Gerald Bowman who passed in 2012 and her maternal grandmother, Mary Ciccarelli in 2017.

Maryann was born in Worcester.  She grew up and lived in Webster all her life where she graduated from Bartlett High School, Class of 1986 after which she worked, married and had her daughter in 1997.  Even though in her last years she was stricken with medical issues, she still lived life to the fullest.  She enjoyed spending time with family, friends and especially her niece’s dog, “Frenchie.”  Maryann was funny, free-spirited, and fearless and kept the family going. She loved her family very much, especially her daughter, Miranda.  Maryann loved her TV shows, cooking for her brother and Tommy, family cookouts, dancing and listening to Keith Urban.  She will be deeply missed by all who loved her so much.

The family would like to thank the kindness and support of the Neurological ICU staff at UMass Medical Center that helped them through this very hard time.

Her funeral service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 11:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.  Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.  A period of calling hours will be held on Monday morning from 10-11:30 am in the funeral home prior to her funeral service.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maryann can be made to a charity of your choice.
