Mary was born in Worcester, a daughter of   Antonio and Angelina (Catino) Cargiulo.  Raised and educated in Worcester, Mary married the “Love of her Life” Rudolph “Rudy” Masiello in 1950 and began a life of faith, family and devotion raising their family in the Massasoit Road neighborhood before Rudy passed away in February of 2015.

Mary is survived by her two children, Patricia Reno and her husband Paul, Ronald Masiello and his wife Leslie; the five grandchildren she loved so much and who loved her.   Anthony and Domenic Reno, Nicole O'Connor, Lauren Meehan, and Lindsay Duquette; eleven great grandchildren; Dante, Will, Camdyn, Angelina, Desmond, Vince, Dillon, Cameron, Isabel, Valentina and Milana; Three brothers, Luis, Joseph, and Maurice Cargiulo; Many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Mary and her family were founding and active members of Our Lady of Loreto Church.  Along with her husband Rudy, her family always came first in her life no matter what. She was the Matriarch of her family, always making sure they were cared for and had a chance to succeed.  She was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending time with family and friends, family dinners, dancing, knitting, cooking, and baking. Her home was always open to anyone who stopped by. No one ever left her house hungry or without taking something home.  The holidays, special occasions or Sunday dinners were the moments Mary enjoyed.  She was very generous with her love, time, and resources, and helped anyone she could. Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will not be forgotten.

Funeral services for Mary and burial in St Johns Cemetery were held privately There were no calling hours.  Memorial remembrances in Mary’s name can be made to either the Why Me/Sherry’s House, 1152 Pleasant Street Worcester 01602 or Notre Dame Hospice, 555 Plantation St Worcester 01605.  The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
