Mary Drenzek-Zona

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Drenzek-Zona, aged 67. Mary passed away peacefully on the morning of April 16th, 2026, at the Bayshore Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Tampa, Florida.

Mary, a beloved mother, daughter, and friend, was born on May 4th, 1958 in Worcester, Massachusetts. She is predeceased by her parents Josephine and Walter Drenzek. She spent most of her life in Worcester before later moving down to Hudson, Florida.

Mary graduated from Salter College in West Boylston and was certified as a legal administrative assistant. Her work in the Worcester school systems and caring for children with special needs reflected her kindness, patience, and unconditional love.

Above all, Mary was devoted to her family. She leaves two sons, Natale and Rocco. She took great joy in raising them and creating lasting memories. She especially enjoyed vacationing with her sons in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. Mary cherished relaxing on the porch with her dog, Sofia. She will be remembered for the joy and laughter that she brought to every room.

Mary will be deeply missed and forever loved. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 5th at 11:00 am in Notre Dame Cemetery, section Notre Dame in Worcester. Family and friends are invited and encouraged to come celebrate her life. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to handle local arrangements once more.
