Marsha K. (Slyby) Kachadoorian, 78, passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at UMass University Campus, Worcester, MA. She is survived and greatly missed by her beloved husband of 59 years, John C. Kachadoorian; her four cherished children- Kelli Goodrow and her husband David Stuller of Hudson, Kendra Wiffin and her boyfriend William Bokarvich of Hudson, Todd Kachadoorian and his wife Rozali of East Providence, RI, and Adam Kachadoorian; and six adored grandchildren- Elias, Eleni, George, Jarred, Kelsi, and Maxwell. She was predeceased by her sister Brenda Klein.
Marsha was born in Somerset on September 28, 1947, daughter of the late Frederick and Adele (Salwan) Slyby. She graduated from Somerset High School and then started her 30-year career as a hairdresser. She worked at Embassy Salon in Webster Square, then opened a salon in her home. After her time as a hairdresser, she opened a small boutique in Worcester called Upscale, where she sold beautiful gowns for all occasions. Then she went on to work in retail at Macy’s for 23 years where she was one of the top salespeople in the store.
Charities were very close to Marsha’s heart. She would always contribute to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. She would crochet hats and scarves for local shelters and would put together fundraisers for those in need. Everything she did always has a meaning and a purpose and always out of love.
In her free time, Marsha loved to gamble and go shopping at TJ Maxx. She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially Lebanese food. She was an excellent cook. She absolutely loved to watch her daughter Kendra sing in her 80’s cover band. She was so proud of her children’s accomplishments. She was the President of the Leicester Women’s Club and a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Worcester MA.
Marsha was known for her personal style and home decorating flair.
She meant everything to her children and her husband and they meant everything to her.
A period of calling hours will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 9:30am-11:00am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 10 H. Putnam Ext, Charlton. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00am. She will then be laid to rest at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marsha’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research- 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
