Mark was very involved as a volunteer with Tris Speaker Little League in Worcester for over fifty years.

Mark C. McGill, 78, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, with his loving wife at his bedside. He was predeceased by his son, Eli “Chip” M. McGill in 2020.

Mark is survived by his wife Linda (Armenti) McGill; a brother, Fred McGill and his wife Nancy of Dudley; two sisters, Lynne Monfreda and her husband Tom of Hubbardston and Robin Young and her husband Rich of Spencer; a sister in law, Anna Armenti and her husband Dave; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Mark was born in Worcester, son of the late, Charles and Jean (Flynn) McGill, and has lived here all his life. He graduated from Burncoat High School.

Mark worked as a security guard at various companies, including Astra Pharmaceuticals in Westborough. He had previously worked as a delivery driver for Pepsi.

Mark and Linda were very involved as volunteers with Tris Speaker Little League in Worcester for over fifty years. Mark gave of his time as a coach, umpire, and mentor to the league. He was honored to have been invited to Europe to umpire several girls’ softball tournaments. Mark enjoyed trains almost as much as he enjoyed baseball; and was an avid collector of model trains and baseball memorabilia.

Mark’s family would like to thank the staff of Life Care Center in Auburn for their compassionate care in his final days.

Calling Hours for Mark will be on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, beginning at 10 am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11 am, all taking place in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will take place at a later date in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
