It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mark F. Marcinkus, 66, of Rutland, on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Born in Worcester, on April 12, 1960, Mark was the son of the late Eugene and Norma (Riley) Marcinkus. He attended Perkins School of the Blind and South High School; Mark was active in different programs throughout his life like the Mercy Center and Seven Hills Foundation.
Mark was renowned for his warm smile, kind heart, and deep love of life. Above all, he cherished his family, who meant more to him than anything else. In his younger years, Mark enjoyed watching The Price Is Right and attending summer camp at Camp Swan in Worcester, where he happily took part in arts and crafts. He also loved going bowling, dining out, and attending Polish picnics with his dad.
An avid listener of WSRS radio, Mark found joy in music and familiar voices. He enjoyed listening to Bucky Sheehan at Tobey’s on Lincoln St. He spent many winters in Pompano Beach, Florida, with his parents, creating lasting memories. Mark was proud to receive a Certificate of Achievement for his volunteer work with the Worcester Animal Rescue League through the Mercy Center.
He especially treasured time spent with his Riley cousins and looked forward each year to their outings. The Riley Christmas parties held a special place in his heart and were among his favorite traditions. Uncle Richy would light up his eyes like no one else could.
Though Mark is no longer with us and we will forever miss him, we will carry him with us in all that we do.
The family would like to say a special thank you to all of his caregivers for the exceptional attention and care they gave Mark.
Mark survived by his loving brothers, Eugene Marcinkus and his wife Deborah, Stephen Marcinkus and his fiancé Shaina, and Paul Marcinkus and his wife Angela; his cherished niece and nephew, Stephanie Peters and her husband Robert, and Justin Marcinkus and his partner Amanda; his dear great nieces, Myla and Zoey Marcinkus. Mark will be missed by his extended family at the Venture Community residence, especially his girlfriend Julie.
