Marilyn George of Yarmouth Port, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, after a lengthy period of declining health, at age 91. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Thomas Asaif George and Rose Abdow George and her brother, Thomas George of Yarmouth Port.
She is survived by brother Edward George (Patricia) of Plymouth, sister Patricia Doyle (Michael) of Auburn, New Hampshire, and sister-in-law Alice of Yarmouth Port.
Born January 14, 1934, in Worcester, Marilyn graduated from Commerce High School and went on to Westbrook Junior College in Portland, Maine, where she studied to be a medical technician, and was a member of one of the first women's basketball teams.
After college, Marilyn worked as a medical technician in Worcester, and later in Denver, where she moved in the 1960s. Marilyn later became a dealer in Native American art with successful businesses in Denver and Provincetown. She continued her career as an art dealer and appraiser at a trading post on the Navajo Nation in New Mexico, where she moved in the 1990s. After retiring and moving back to Massachusetts, she was very active with Habitat for Humanity and was an avid golfer.
Always very proud of her Lebanese heritage, Marilyn was very active in her church, St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church in Cotuit.
Marilyn will be forever remembered for the love and affection she showered on her nieces and nephews, who lovingly referred to her as "Aunty Bobby" — the late Thomas Andrew George (Rebecca) of Cummaquid; Alicia Hutton (Miles) of Waltham; Christopher George (Mary) of Yarmouth Port; J. Fred Doyle (Marisol) of Somersworth, New Hampshire; Edward Doyle (Blake Leister) of Manchester, New Hampshire, and Catherine Toner (Gregory) of Rehoboth.
She also leaves behind 10 grand nieces and nephews — Elise and Leila Hutton; Michael and Tristan Doyle; Stella Maris, Guadalupe, and Paloma George; Evan, Kendall, and Jack Toner.
Funeral will be Dec. 20 at St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St., Worcester, at 11 a.m., preceded by calling hour at 10. Burial at Hope Cemetery will follow.
