Margaret Claire (Legor) Goulet, 90 of Worcester passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones Tuesday, October 22,2019.
Margaret was born in Worcester, one of eight children of Athanas and Elizabeth (Breen) Grigor. Raised and educated in Worcester, Margaret married Arthur R. Goulet in 1951 and enjoyed life happily married for the next 27 years until Arthur passed away in 1978. Margaret lived most of her life in Worcester, and for a time in Grafton and Sutton.
Margaret is survived by two daughters, Deborah A. Wilson of Sutton, Susan M. Renaud and her husband Thomas of West Yarmouth on Cape Cod; a brother, Patrick Legor of Grafton and a sister Jean Violante of Worcester; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Wilson and his wife Jennifer of Grafton, Eric Renaud and his wife Sarah of Sutton, Kimberly Newcomb and her husband Brian of New Boston, NH, and Alissa Renaud of West Yarmouth; 8 great grandchildren, Tori, Drew, Kellen, Ella, Miles, Ailey, Cole and Norah; Many nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her husband Arthur, a brother Joseph Legor and four sisters, Eleanor Bechard, Shirley Goulet, Elizabeth Stranieri and Joan Shooshan all predeceased her.
In Margaret’s life there wasn’t anything more important than her husband, children and grandchildren, they always came first. She cherished having them around her anytime she could. Margaret also found enjoyment with her brothers and sisters, family holidays, special occasions and entertaining. Everyone was always welcome in her home and no one ever went home without having something to eat. She was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; puzzles of all types, crochet, and playing cards.
A period of calling hours will be held Monday, October 28th from 9:30 am to 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St followed by a procession to St Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd where her celebration of Christian burial mass will be held at 11:30 am. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
