Luis A. Ramos

Luis A. Ramos, 81, of Worcester, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023 at home surrounded by the ones he loved. 

Luis was born in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, one of ten children of Nicolas and Esperanza (Perez) Ramos.  Raised in Puerto Rico, Luis came to Worcester over 35 years ago.   Luis worked as a machinist for various factories in the Worcester area before retiring.   

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Maria (Cintron) Ramos; six children, nine brothers and sisters, both here and in Puerto Rico; Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Luis was a member of St Joan of Arc Church.  He notably loved all kinds of sports, especially the New York Yankees and all kinds of horse racing and horses in general.  He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather, who cherished the moments he had his family around him.  The holidays and special occasions were those he cherished the most.     

A period of calling hours will be held Tuesday, August 29th from 9:30 to 11:00 am in THE MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.  followed by a procession to St Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am.  Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum.
