Mrs. Louise Estelle (Price) Jones, affectionately known to many as “Bee Bee,” was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 19, 2025, just days after celebrating her 71st birthday.
Louise was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on September 15, 1954, the beloved daughter of Elsie Louise (Toney) Price and the late Philip C. Price, Sr. She was a proud graduate of Girls Trade High School, Class of 1972. At the young age of 15, she met the love of her life, Herbert
M. Jones, and together they began a journey of faith, family, and devotion. They were united in marriage on March 27, 1973, and shared more than 50 beautiful years together until his passing in February 2024.
Early in her career, Louise worked as an operator at Doctors Hospital before transitioning to the YWCA, where she served as a bookkeeper. Her greatest calling, however, was caring for children. She became a licensed daycare provider and lovingly operated Auntie Bee Bee’s Daycare from her home for over 30 years, shaping the lives of countless children and families in Worcester. Even after retirement, she continued to serve her community with grace and kindness, later working as a toll operator.
A woman of deep faith, Louise was a longtime member of Belmont A.M.E. Zion Church, where she was a class leader and part of the Pastor’s Aide ministry. She was also an active member of the Sunshine Club, a group that coordinated repasts for families during their times of bereavement, and she was a member of the former Mass Choir of Worcester. When her husband was called to pastor Stanley Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Willimantic, CT, she embraced her role as First Lady with humility and joy. At Stanley Chapel, she also served faithfully as a Deaconess and a Stewardess, supporting the ministry with grace, strength, and unwavering commitment.
Cherishing her memory are her five loving children: Alisha (Jones) Troxel and her husband Sean of San Diego, CA; Heather (Jones) Nelson of Windsor, CT; Yolanda (Jones) McFarlane and her husband Neil of Hadley, MA; Tara Louise (Jones) Harmon and her husband Jovan of Los Angeles, CA; and her only son, DeShawn Herbert Jones. She was blessed with twelve grandchildren: Aaron, Ashleigh, Tyler, Morgan, Nia, Madison, Adrell Jr., Andrew, Amya, Allie, Trayce, and Jones, as well as six great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
Louise is also survived by her devoted mother, Elsie Price; her siblings Philip Price Jr., Carol Johnson, Mark Price, Robert Price, Karon Fournier, Sharon Broadard, Yvonne Price, and Rodney Price; and her sisters-in-law Sandra Fleuran and Dorothy Jones. She will be remembered lovingly by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and many treasured friends whose lives she touched with her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours (Wake) on Monday, October 6, 2025, from 9:00a.m.–10:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service from 10:00–11:30
a.m. at Belmont A.M.E. Zion Church, 55 Illinois Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Rev. Herbert and Louise Jones Legacy Award via https://gofund.me/828c26df4.
Louise’s legacy is one of faith, family, and love. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin and friend who always gave of herself freely. Her laughter, kindness, and light will live on in all who knew her.
