Louise D. “Honey” (Fresolo) Tula of Shrewsbury, MA, passed away September 18, 2025, at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester. She was the beloved wife of 48 years to the late, Paul P. Tula, who passed in 2001.
Louise was born in Worcester, MA on June 30, 1930, to the late Rocco A. Fresolo, Sr. and Dorothy M. (Bowns) Fresolo. She moved to Shrewsbury in 1964.
Louise graduated from North High School and the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1951.
During her 35 year tenure as a R.N. at Memorial Hospital, she was employed as a Charge Nurse, Administrative Supervisor and in the Emergency Room and Post Surgical Recovery Room. In later years she worked per-dim and was a School Nurse at Coolidge Elementary School in Shrewsbury, MA. She was a Volunteer Coordinator and a volunteer at the Coolidge School and served on the committee for the Title I Program for many years. She was a long-time member of St. Anne’s Parish in Shrewsbury and volunteered in the C.C.D. office.
Louise is survived by her two daughters with whom she lived, Doreen DiPilato and Carole A. Tula of Shrewsbury; her sons, Richard P. Tula and his wife Tara of Worcester and Robert J. Tula and his wife Marcia of Millbury; her grandchildren, Cheryl A. Tula/Scott Bernier, Nicole Bradley/Ryan, John D. DiPilato/Kelly, Samuel Tula, Hope Tula/Avery and Emiley L. Tula, Calvin/Katie and Courtney McMillan; great grandchildren, Olivia Bernier, Ava, Colin and Shamus Bradley, Jason and Leighla DePari, Sean and Lillian McMillan; her sisters, Irene M. Fresolo of Worcester and Terese M. Zalieckas and her husband Anthony of Shrewsbury; sisters-in-law, Harriet Fresolo of Millbury, Nancy Fresolo of MO and Margaret Mattress of Worcester; and her best friend, June Lajeunesse of Worcester. Louise also leaves many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Paul S. Tula; brothers, Rocco A. Fresolo, Jr. (Pauline), Ronald J. Fresolo, Joseph P. Fresolo and Richard E. Fresolo (Joan); her sisters, Marie C. Bisceglia (Matteo), Marjorie A. Duquette (Albert), Dorothy M. Kamendulis (Francis) and twin granddaughters, Lisa Marie and Lori Ann Sugarman.
A gathering will be held for Louise on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 4:00p.m. until her Prayer Service beginning at 6:00p.m. at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Louise’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Boston Children’s Hospital.
