Louis cherished nothing in life more than his family.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Louis George Paquette, 75, of Worcester, on Monday, July 13, 2026.

Born in Worcester on March 23, 1951, Louis was the son of the late George and Ora (Belanger) Paquette. Louis worked for College of the Holy Cross since he was 16 years old. He worked as a chef for the Jesuits for 15 years and was promoted to Sous Chef. Louis was transferred to Kimball in 1982 where he developed a lot of lasting friendships until his retirement in 2014. He received the Claire Burns Award in 2002 for his exemplary work.

Louis was an avid Boston sports fan. He was a season ticket holder for 4 years for the Woo Sox. Louis enjoyed cooking, bowling, collecting sports memorabilia, and music. He loved listening to Frank Sinatra.

Renowned for his kind heart and generosity, Louis cherished nothing in life more than his family. He would do anything for them whenever they needed. "Football Sundays" at Lou's was an open invitation to anyone who wanted to come eat great food and cheer on the Patriots. It was always a full house with full stomachs of delicious food. Holidays were especially important to Lou. He would spend weeks testing recipes, creating a menu of everything from appetizers to desserts, and assigning tasks to family members. The entire family would look forward to see what amazing holiday meal Lou would serve.

Louis is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Linda (Guido) Paquette; his loving children, Derek Paquette and his wife Brenda Belsanti, and her daughter Anastasia Gumatay, and Bryan Moore and his wife Marybeth Martin-Moore; his adored grandchild, Paige Moore and her partner Sam Boamah; his cherished brother, David Paquette and his wife Vera; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Though Louis is no longer with us, we will forever miss him, we will carry him with us in all that we do.

A period of Calling Hours will be held for Louis on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm in the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester. Louis will be laid to rest immediately following in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers. donations may be made in Louis' memory to the UMASS Memorial Health Heart & Vascular Department.
