Lois I. (Rizzuti) Buffone, 84, of Worcester, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Monday, September 15, 2025, in Worcester.
Lois is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, James T. Buffone of Worcester, her loving children, James Buffone and his longtime companion Patty Donahue of Worcester, MA, Paul Buffone and his wife Noelle of Sutton, MA; Ron Buffone and his wife Penny of N. Oxford, MA, her adored grandchildren, Casie, Gianna, Jarod, Justin, Kyle, Ciara; and great grandchildren Ava, Giabella, and many nieces and nephews. Sadly, in addition to her parents, Lois was predeceased by her son, Thomas Buffone, her brother Michael Rizzuti, four sisters, Eleanor Todd, Patricia Pellerin, Janet Iacovone and Joanne Scampini.
Born in Holden on January 31, 1941, Lois was the daughter of the late William and Nellie (Bowns) Rizzuti. Lois worked for the city of Worcester in the school system where she enjoyed being with the children. Lois also worked at American Printing. She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church and served as an usher, participated at the church bazaar and Italian Festival where she was known as Lois “Cookie” Buffone. Lois found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, making her famous Lasagna with meatballs.
A period of Calling Hours will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 9:30a.m. until her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Immediately following Mass, Lois will be laid to rest in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
