Linda had a warm personality and a gift for making people feel comfortable.
Linda M. (Eager) Gaimari of Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Saint Vincent Hospital, just two days after celebrating her 78th birthday. Her passing concluded a long, valiant, and protracted battle with cancer, which she faced with unwavering fortitude.
Linda was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, friend, and caregiver. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 50 years, Pasquale; her three sons, Pasquale, Michael, and John and his wife Jennifer. John and Jennifer were Linda’s pride and joy; they lovingly cared for her throughout her illness, always making sure she was surrounded by love, comfort, and family.
She also leaves her brothers, James Eager and Robert Eager; her longtime, sister-like friends, Cheryl, Donna, and Della; her goddaughters, Darlene and Kerry; her grandchildren, Michelle, Mario, Anna, and Emilee; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and numerous other extended relatives. The family also recognizes her devoted PCAs, who were already cherished family friends, for providing Linda with exceptional care, comfort, and steadfast companionship during the final months of her life. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Louise Eager (Groccia); her sister, Patty, whom Linda lovingly cared for; her son, Mark; her best friend, Joann; and the family dog, Sam.
Linda was a lifelong Worcester resident and a graduate of North High School. She went on to establish a distinguished, nearly three-decade career within the Business Office at Saint Vincent Hospital.
Her kitchen was the heart of every celebration, filled with irresistible aromas as she prepared Italian feasts for the people she loved.
Linda had a warm personality and a gift for making people feel comfortable. She was smart, honest, caring, and a consummate listener. Whether gathered around the kitchen table or talking on the phone, she enjoyed a good conversation and was always willing to listen or offer advice. Her straightforward nature, generous heart, and ability to make people feel heard were qualities those who knew her will always remember.
She found profound contentment in life's simpler pleasures: word searches, her favorite daytime talk shows, flowers, cleaning, cooking, baking, and shopping. In her younger years, she loved joining her boys for sports, swimming, beach trips, carnivals, fairs, Halloween, and memorable casino trips. She especially loved Christmas and decorating, taking pride in making the holidays feel special.
For Linda, holidays were about more than decorations, they were her way of bringing people together. Her kitchen was the heart of every celebration, filled with irresistible aromas as she prepared Italian feasts for the people she loved. Christmas Eve meant traditional fish including her famous baccalà and stuffed squid, while Christmas Day always called for macaroni. Whether she was baking Italian cookies and pastries or hosting a holiday meal, cooking was truly how Linda showed her love.
Linda believed strongly in family and in making things right. She often reminded her children of her famous advice: “Never go to bed angry.” Those words captured something important about Linda: she believed that relationships mattered, that disagreements could be worked through, and that the people you love should never be taken for granted.
Cooking was truly how Linda showed her love.
Linda will be remembered for her honesty, her caring nature, her love of conversation, her enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. Her family will carry forward the traditions she created, the recipes she made, the laughter she shared, the strong will she carried, and the advice she gave so freely.
Most of all, Linda will be remembered for the love she gave so generously and for the many ways she made her family feel cared for. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. And her children will carry her words with them always: “Never go to bed angry.”
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Linda's memory to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. A celebration of life will be held privately for family and close friends at a later date.
