Linda (Gilbert) Field

December 27, 1948 — May 18, 2023

Linda (Gilbert) Field, affectionally known as Nanny, passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday May 18, 2023 in the presence of loved ones. She spent her final days surrounded by family. She was born in Worcester, but recently moved to Hubbardston, MA. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and stay-at-home mother. A matter of pride for her was that she was also able to be a stay-at-home grandmother to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Linda was predeceased by her parents Normand & Evelyn (Lucier) Gilbert. She was also predeceased by five of her children, Ray Jr., Debra, Clara, Norman, & Jeffrey.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Raymond Field, currently of Hubbardston, formerly of Worcester. Her three children: Linda Lee Field of Worcester; Tracy Lee Marcoux & her husband Keith of Auburn; and Scott Field & his girlfriend April of Shaftsbury, VT; her daughter-in-law Amy Nygard-Shaw-Haj & her husband Rashid of Rutland; and her pride and joy, her furbaby, Sophie Jane Field.

Her grandchildren, Michael Nygard & his partner Craig Decker, with whom she had been cared for by and lived with for the last 8 years; Kayla Field, & her girlfriend Emily; Dawn Shaw, & her boyfriend Randy, Brittany Field, & her girlfriend Beba; Jeffrey Marcoux & his fiancé Brittany Richard; Dylan Shaw, & his girlfriend Kate; Marissa Marcoux; Ethan Shaw; Isabella Nygard; George Nygard; & Brandy Rosen. Her three great-grandsons, Mason, Clyde, & Carter whom she showered with love. She adored her title of Nanny, and was known as such to many more not mentioned.

Her many loves included, going shopping for anything and everything; especially anything purple, as well as Cinderella or Snoopy related. Celine Dion, who she was able to listen to live in concert on her most recent tour. She always had a love for dolls and collected them throughout her life. At parties, she would be the first one on the dance floor and was not shy about making a fool of herself, even though she could do the twist. She exuded confidence with her fun loving and welcoming personality. Her greatest love was and always had been her family.
