Leila M. Jenkins

Leila M. (Hentz) Jenkins, 89 of Dracut formerly of Billerica and Lowell,MA passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at St. Mary Health Care Center in Worcester, with her loving family by her side.

Leila was born in Somerville, MA, a daughter of the late Clifford and Viola (Strang) Hentz. She worked as a secretary for many years, and retired in 2001 from Joan Fabrics in Lowell, MA. Leila was an avid Boston Red Sox Fan who took great joy in their 2004 World Series championship. She loved singing, playing, and listening to music, especially Willie Nelson.

Leila is survived by her daughter, Donna Jenkins of Dracut, with whom she lived; her son, David Jenkins and his wife Kathleen of Gardner; her granddaughter, Kimberly Jenkins of Gardner; her sister-in-law Elizabeth Hentz, of Epping, NH; many nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Lulu aka “Muffin”. She is predeceased by four siblings, David Hentz and his wife Martha; twin siblings, Richard Hentz and Ann Hentz; and Leila’s twin brother, Robert Hentz and his wife Mary who was also Leila’s best friend.
