Laurie J. Francis

Laurie J. (Anderson) Francis, 61, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Brown University Health Hospital in Providence, RI. She is survived and greatly missed by her two loving children- Nicola Torello and her boyfriend Logan Tennant, and David Francis and his girlfriend Zaida Gonzalez; brother Mark Anderson; and four adored grandchildren- Clayton and Chase Hubley, and Leo and Lorenzo Francis.

Laurie was born in Worcester on June 26, 1964, daughter of the late Paul L. and Dorothy J. (Lavallee) Anderson. She received her Master’s in Nursing from DeVry University. She was a dedicated and compassionate registered nurse who devoted 35 years of her life to serving others at UMass Memorial Medical School in Worcester. She was known for her kindness and her willingness to help anyone in need. She touched countless lives through her unwavering commitment to her patients, always willing to offer comfort, support, and healing. During her free time, Laurie loved to go to the beach in the summer. She also adored her many cats.

In accordance with Laurie’s wishes, burial will be private. Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
