She grew up in Chicago, Puerto Rico, and New York and married the “love of her life” Humberto ‘Berto’ Galarza on July 24th 1973 beginning a 52 year marriage in Worcester, Massachusetts before settling in Auburn in 1987.

She was awarded several Diamond Awards over the years and lead her team through several mergers, retiring in 2017.

Kim was known at work for her neat and ironed uniforms. She was always the first to celebrate everyone’s special occasions. Her rice, frosting, and upside down pineapple cake were crowd favorites. She hosted many parties over the years, and every year the Christmas tree had a new theme. Kim loved to buy new scrub tops and would give away bags of them to students. She redecorated the X-ray department and her home weekly.
Kim is survived by her Love, Humberto; a son, Humberto ‘Bobby’ Galarza, Jr. of Tipton, Iowa; a daughter and best friend Antoinette ‘Tootsie’ Tracy of Worcester; A sister, Antoinette ‘Toni’ Berry of Worcester; three brothers, Michael, Gary, and Richard ‘Poochie’ Moreno of Iowa; grandchildren she adored, Alexander, Dakota, Austin, Amber, William, Cloe, and Brayden; a great grandson, Syrie; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A brother, William Moreno Jr, passed away in 2008.

A selfless woman with high standards, a huge heart, and giant smile, who loved to give of herself. She was generous with her time and wisdom, cherished her family, loved to cook, make and decorate cakes, shop, and spend time at the beach. The greatest moments in Kim’s life were those spent with her family.
