Kevin M McArthur

Kevin M. McArthur, 54, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, March 28, 2022.  

Kevin was a lifelong resident of Charlton.  He was born in Worcester, the son of Susan E. (Gonyea) McArthur and the late Lawrence M. McArthur.  He is survived by his mother Susan of Charlton, his brother, William McArthur and wife Lisa of Charlton; his niece and nephew; McKenzie and William Jr; His stepchildren, which he always considered his own; Ashley Johnson, Matthew Johnson and Cody Fournier. His father, Lawrence McArthur predeceased him.

Kevin was raised in Charlton and graduated from Sheppard Hill High School and then began his life as a construction worker. He worked as a roofer for Pro Residential Roofing for the last 18 years. On his weekends, he would often do masonry which he excelled at. In his younger years he worked for an ironworker’s union. He was a hard worker who loved what he did and took pride in his work. He was very talented.

Kevin was very outgoing and always doing something to keep busy; whether that be voluntarily helping those he cared about with moving, yard work, or repairs. Kevin just loved animals; domestic and wild. He has saved birds and turtles on numerous occasions and always greeted family pets with a gentle pat and a “hey lil’Mista Mista”.  

Some of Kevin’s hobbies included fishing, hiking, cooking, billiards, and music. He also loved holidays, family gatherings and cookouts because he loved to socialize and be around those he cared about. He was a very generous man who loved to treat and spoil his family/friends with surprise dinners, take-out, and day trips. His distinctive voice and fun-loving sense of humor were always a delight.

A period of calling hours will be held, Wednesday, April 6^th from 3pm to 6pm followed by a prayer service at 6pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will be private.
