Kent H Rice

Kent H. Rice, 62, of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

Kent was born in the Bronx, NY, a son of Christopher T. and Carol (Riddick) Rice. He graduated from Quinsigamond Community College and worked in the logistics department of several local companies including Millbrook Distributors and the Polar Corporation.

Kent is survived by his wife, Hermorne (McConner) Rice; three children,  Janasha McConner of Newbern NC, Tyshica McConner of Columbia, SC, and Jerrell McConner of Worcester;  a brother, Leonard Simmons in New York, sister Nicole Simmons in California; 16 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; including his granddaughter Alecia with whom he shared a special bond. nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Kent was a loving, kind, supporting man who selflessly gave of himself for others. He loved his family and devoted himself to them all his life. Kent loved music and the bass guitar. He notably taught himself to play and could always learn a song quickly.

Kent's funeral will be held Wednesday, July 27th, 2022, at 2 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will be private. A period of calling hours will be held from 1 pm to 2 pm, prior to the service. The family request that flowers be omitted.
