Kathleen G. Pingeton (Lasky), aged 78 died peacefully on Friday, October 4 with her family by her side. From her birth in Worcester on April 16, 1941 she nourished all around her with her love and laughter. Her world revolved around her family whom she cherished dearly. She loved spending time at her summer home in Dennisport, Cape Cod. Kay was also a passionate animal lover, volunteering at local animal shelters.
Kathleen graduated from North High School, obtained her associates degree from Quinsigamond CC, and her Bachelors degree in Sociology and Gerontology from Worcester State College. Kathleen worked for both the Seven Hills Foundation and for Adcare Hospital where she was a Social Worker for many years.
Kathleen was predeceased by her father Walter Lasky and mother Katherine Lasky, her brothers Robert Meyers, John Meyers, and Walter Lasky, and her infant daughter Faith Lynn Pingeton. Kathleen leaves behind her loving husband of 55 years Augustus Pingeton of West Boylston, her son Walter Pingeton and his fiancé Jen Johnson of Shrewsbury, her son Robert Pingeton and his wife Christine of Whitinsville, her son Matthew Pingeton, and his wife Kristin of Charlton, her daughter Anna-Marie MacChesney and her husband John of Leicester. Kathleen also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren; Sara, Meghan, Emily, Allysa, Emma, Samantha, Katherine, Robert, Jr., Kelsey, Anthony, Zachary, Dante, and Leda. Lastly, Kathleen leaves behind five great grandchildren. A wonderful and loving wife, mom, and grandmother, Kathleen / Kay / Grandma Katie will be sorely missed.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Tuesday, October 8th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, October 9th from the funeral home with a procession to St Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston St. where her Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am. Burial will follow to Saint John’s Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Kathleen’s memory can be made to St. Christopher Church Memorial Fund, 950 West Boylston St., Worcester 01606.
