June E. Belanger

June E. Belanger, 90, of Worcester, a long-time Shrewsbury resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Notre Dame Long Term Care.

June was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Albert J. and Anne (Shilinsky) Belanger. She graduated from Saint Stephen’s High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Our Lady of The Elms College. She took her vows as Sister Albert Anne and was a Religious Sister with the Sisters of Saint Joseph; where she dedicated herself to prayer and educating first grade students at the local Catholic School. She later worked for Crane Paper and ultimately retired from Sprague Electric in Worcester.

June continued to be a faith filled woman and was a member of Saint Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury. She enjoyed caring for her cat Abby, playing BINGO, and was great at word search and playing card games.

June is survived by nieces and nephews, including her caregivers, Jean Jose and Ann Marie Surprise. She was predeceased by her sisters, Shirley Chenery and her husband Warren, and by Barbara Lane and her husband Thomas.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 9, from 9 am until 9:30 am in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 am in Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Road (route 9 east), Shrewsbury. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
