Judith Irizarry, 58, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Saint Vincent Hospital, with loving family at her bedside.
Judith is survived by her loving children, including two sons, Jonathan G. Vigo and his wife Ashley Scott of Worcester, and Jatniel Martinez and his wife Amanda of Millbury; a daughter, Jonaidy Vigo-Irizarry of Worcester; her mother, Luz Elenia Valentin; three brothers, Luis A. Irizarry and his wife Yoelis Maria of Boston, Nelson Irizarry of Worcester, and José Irizarry of Worcester; four sisters, Nancy Irizarry of New Jersey, Evelyn Irizarry of Worcester, Wanda Irizarry of Leominster, and Zaida Irizarry of Worcester; her precious thirteen grandchildren, Hennessy, Devante, Jeremiah, Nayely, Amaiyah, Aydrien, Jatniel, Jr., Solinette, Enzo, Milani, Jayden, Isaiah, and Anaiah; many nieces and nephews. Born in Yonkers, New York, daughter of the late, Luis Angel Irizarry, she has lived in Worcester for most of her life.
Although Judith had no formal occupation, she took on the role of a single mother seriously and was proud of her children for all their accomplishments and families of their own. Her family brought her the greatest joy. She enjoyed crafting, playing BINGO, and the New York Yankees. She was an animal lover and especially loved her dog “Bombi”.
Calling Hours will be on Monday, October 28, from 4 pm to 7 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A Funeral Service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home.
A Committal Service will take place on Wednesday, October 30, at 1 pm in the Mausoleum at Saint John's Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester.
