Judith Isabel (DePasquale) Dennis, 84, of Provincetown and Worcester, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at UMass Hospital.
Judith was born October 8, 1937 in Worcester, daughter of Italian immigrants; the late, Frank and Vincenza (Romano) DePasquale.
Judith is survived by four sons, Frank A. Caro, Jr. and his wife Melanie of Leawood, KS, Philip P. Carofaniello and his wife Mara of Charlton, John J. Chavier of Nashua, NH, and Nicholas W. Dennis of Provincetown; seven grandchildren, Tracy Hedberg, Alexandra Caro, Zachary Caro, Anthony Carofaniello and his wife Christine, Gabriela Carofaniello, Michaela Carofaniello and her fiancé Brad, and Kayla Chavier; six great grandchildren, Dominic, Anthony, Lorenzo, Jionni, Colton, and Briella. Even though Judith was an only child, her cousin Catharine Paparella was like a sister to her. She was predeceased by a son, Barry L. Dennis, Jr. in 2019.
Judith grew up on Gage Street in the “Italian Section” of Worcester. She was a member of the second graduating class at Venerini Academy, she went on to attend Quinsigamond Community College before graduating from Assumption University having earned a Bachelors Degree.
Judith dedicated her life to helping others, whether at her work as a registered nurse, her endless hours of volunteering, or being a certified clown. She was a registered nurse retiring from Westborough State Hospital in 1989 after many years of dedicated service. She had previously worked at Grafton State Hospital and Memorial Hospital in Worcester. She moved to Largo, Florida in 1994, returning to Worcester and Provincetown seven years ago. She possessed a young spirit and spent twenty years entertaining people as a professional clown, where she shared her caring spirit with a genuine smile.
Throughout her life, Judith remained proud of her Italian Heritage, her faith, and being a nurse. Wherever Judith was living, she gave of herself to help those in need, volunteering at many churches, thrift stores and soup kitchens.
Calling Hours will be on Sunday, December 19, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be on Monday, December 20, departing the funeral home at 10:10 a.m. in procession to a 10:30 Funeral Mass at Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Provincetown United Methodist Thrift Store, 20 Shank Painter Road, Provincetown, MA 02657.
