Joyce C. (Carpenter) Herrick

Joyce C. (Carpenter) Herrick, 83, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

Born on February 2, 1942, Joyce was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth Carpenter. She graduated from the Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls in 1961 and went on to attend Thompson School of Nursing and graduated in 1965.

Joyce was a visiting nurse for the Town of Conway before moving to Shrewsbury to spend the rest of her life. She had gone on to work for 25 years at the Jewish Home of the Aged in Worcester. Later retiring after working for 15 years for Walmart.

Joyce was a member of the Conway Congregational Church. She served as the choir director for several years and held many titles. She also became a member of the Baptist Church of Grafton. Joyce served many offices as a member of the Shelburne & Shrewsbury Grange.

Joyce is survived by her two loving sons, Charles A. Herrick of Shrewsbury and Keith L. Herrick and his wife Cheryl of Springfield, MO; her two adored granddaughters, Meghan and Caleigh; and her closest friends Cathy and Paul, whom she lived with.

Graveside services will be held for Joyce at The Red Brick Cemetery, Colrain, MA, at the convenience of the family.
