Joshua Alexzander Hayes

Joshua Alexzander Hayes, 37 of Worcester, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026 at his home after a brief illness.

Joshua was born on December 16, 1988, in Worcester and attended Worcester Schools. He worked as a cook for Worcester Polytechnical Institute as well as Applebee’s for many years. Joshua enjoyed playing cards and board games with his children. He enjoyed watching anime and playing video games. Music was a part of his DNA. Joshua loved everything about music, especially creating different sounds.

Joshua is survived by his fiancée Amber Laferriere; twelve children, Jasmine Frazier, Kayliana Hayes, Cheyenne Hayes, Maya Hayes, Iana Hayes, Reena Hayes, Riley White, Joshua Hayes Jr., Analeigha Hayes, Joseph Laferriere, Patrick Laferriere and Nathaniel Laferriere; his parents, Alto L. Hayes and Yvonne (Climes) Hayes; five brothers, Jerome Hayes, Nickey Brown, Jeffery Blyther, Carl Sidoti, and Shawn Herbert; eleven sisters, Andretta Jackson, Pilar Grant, Alrita Williams, Selita Hayes, Tracy Blyther, Marshena Diaz, Darcie Cruz, Missalina Courchaine, Altolina Hall, Samantha Johnson, and Audretta Townsend; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and countless friends. He is predeceased by two siblings, Jessie A.L. Hayes, III and Monalisa Hayes-Burns.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 9:00-11:00 am with his funeral service immediately following at 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately.
