On September 21, 2022, Joseph (Joe Joe) Morin passed away at the age of 43
Joe was born on June 24, 1979 and grew up in Holyoke MA.
He enjoyed a successful career managing restaurants, nightclubs, and entertainment facilities. Joe played a key role in the success of many venues in Western Massachusetts including TJ Horhan’s, The Hippodrome, Rain/ Skyplex, and worked promoting many others. In 2012, Joe made the move to Worcester, MA where he managed Bar FX and Perfect Game. He then played a key role in designing, building, and operating Whiskey on Water.
He studied for and obtained a Captain’s License. With that, he worked for Jackhammer Charters and also captained private boats for charters and commercial fishing. Joe also worked for Sea Tow as a Marine Assistance Operator. During the charter offseason or in between boating days, Capt. Joe spent time working for his childhood friend Tony as the lead installer at TS. Mobile Accessories in Springfield, MA. In addition to his experience on the ocean and managing high volume entertainment facilities, Joe was also an Ordained Minister with Universal Life Church. He used his credentials to marry many couples, often close friends.
Joe Joe had many hobbies and interests. Along with being an avid spear fisherman and the Vice President of the Tristate Skindivers (The Northeast’s largest and most active spearfishing club), he was an amateur photographer and used his skills to produce incredible drone and GoPro footage. Some of his photographs and video footage were used by Spearing magazine and National Geographic.
He was a founder of Underground Jeeps Offroad Club. Joe was a tattoo enthusiast and tried his hand as an amateur tattoo artist. He also was a collector of unique art and antiques.
Along with his love of the ocean, Joe Joe had a love for animals such as birds and dogs. He did volunteer work with the Rhode Island Bird Rescue and had several birds of his own. He left behind a Senegal Parrot named Pickles and an African Gray Parrot named Pheobe.
Joe had a big heart towards animals and people alike. He would often volunteer his time during the Christmas season to dress as Santa Claus and even co-sponsored a toy drive with Westerman’s, The Worcester Police Dept., and The NE Film Industry that collected toys for over 5000 children.
Joe is survived by his children: Chloe Nunez, Scarlet Morris-Morin, Maxwell Morris-Morin and Grettle Allis; his mother: Joanne Morin and countless friends whose lives he touched.
